2 Week Juice Cleanse – Starting Out

Hello Everyone! Hope you are having a fabulous day! It’s Fri-YAY in my world.

For those of you who have frequented my site in the last little bit you probably noticed the link for a 2 week juice cleanse and noticed that nothing had been added to it.

I had this idea about a week ago to start a 2 week juice cleanse. So, I figured I should report on it to you as well.

A Little Bit of My Story

Just to fill you in on what has been happening that has brought me to this point.2 week juice cleanse

I consider myself over weight (160lbs) at my highest. Weightloss has been my main goal for the last while. It has been more than a month that I have wanted to lose weight but, within the last month is when I have really applied myself.

A month ago I quit drinking all alcohol, I started going to yoga (daily) or working out, and I cut out all sugar and carbs – for the most part.

I have lost five pounds within that month. YAY! It’s so much more motivation once you see things happening.

Then, I got the idea to do a 2 week juice cleanse. Duh duh duhhhh..

What is The Cleanse?

Between diet plans, workout routines and cleanses there are SO many (too many) choices out there. I chose one that was natural and I could go and buy ingredients from the grocery store.

What you need:

  • 1 Tablespoon of Cinnamon Powder
  • 1/2 Lemon or apple cider vinegar
  • 2 Tablespoons of Natural Honey
  • 250 mL of water

Pretty straightforward, hey? I like it because of how easy it is.

So, the rules are to have a glass in the morning and have a glass at night for two weeks consecutively. There was nothing on what you are allowed to eat or drink except that in the morning drink the juice and wait a half an hour before consuming anything else. Perfect right?

2 week juice cleanseI tried it this past Tuesday.

I went to the grocery store on Monday grabbed a bunch of lemons and some organic apple cider vinegar – I already had cinnamon at home.

I made 8 batches in a big jug, figuring it would be easier to commit if it was premade – meal prep FTW?! I split the difference of lemon & apple cider vinegar into equal part.

I stirred up my potion and put it in the fridge for the next morning.

What Happened?!

Woke up around my usual time with commitment in mind.

This is happening, I am doing this! Except I can’t drink my coffee right away – crap.

That didn’t matter so, I got a cup and filled it up. Now, I knew that it wasn’t going to be the greatest so I figured the quicker I could get it into my body the better.

Literally five minutes later I had to (poop) and my tummy was turning. I wasn’t what end it was going to come out of. It was not a good feeling. I (pooped) twice in an hour before leaving the house and it took about two hours for my tummy to settle.

Needless to say I did not drink any in the evening and I was planning on throwing out the whole mixture.

Instead, I waited – from the advice of my husband. A couple days later I noticed extra brain foggy at work and tried to asses if there were any differences I felt from drinking my potion on Tuesday.

Sure enough I did feel more clarity. I didn’t really feel like snacking throughout the day. Not because I couldn’t due to tummy issues but because I genuinely was not ‘snacky’.

Where Are You Going With This?

Even though the effects of the cleanse hit my body instantly and I wasn’t crazy about how it made me feel for the first two hours I am going to go through and complete this cleanse.

I know I sound crazy.

I am going to start it tomorrow though – the weekend – so I can give my body time to adjust (and time to be near a toilet without worrying about having to go to work).

Now that I know what to expect, it will be easier to follow through – I will also only be starting out with a half glass to adjust 2 week juice cleanseand I have three days off to get used to the effects on my body.

  • my weight
  • my consistency in taking the cleanse
  • what is happening to my body (I will keep it PG)
  • how it has affected my mind and body
  • any exercise I have done in the day

FYI I hope to lose 25-30 lb’s before December 8th. I’m going to Mexico baby! Any pound lost is good for me though!

    Hi Kahlua. I’m surprised the cleansing mixture had such a powerful effect on you. I regularly drink apple cider vinegar or lemon juice and honey with hot water because of the many health benefits. It must be the cinnamon that is upsetting you? I am inspired to go and get some and give it a go because a clean body makes us feel so much better and allows us to be more calm and relaxed in our minds as well. Many thanks for sharing.

      Yes, I was thinking the same thing – that it was the cinnamon. There was so much in there!

      Seriously though, if you do end up trying it out I would love to hear your results.
